from 5 November, on Tuesdays 11:30am-3:30pm The Volunteer Desk will be open once again. This service offers Bocconi students, faculty and staff the opportunity to get to know and approach Milanese organizations committed to social issues, dedicating part of their time to concrete activities. The service is managed thanks to a collaboration with CIESSEVI Milano and the student association Students for Humanity, and is available every Tuesday from 5 November to 10 December, from 11:30am to 3:30pm at the Campus Life area (One-Stop Service Center – access without ticketing).
8 November at 6:00 pm Making Sense of Profits represents a new way to offer Bocconi students the opportunity to approach the job market through a practical experience, during which the economics profession is combined naturally with creating social impact. The project has been developed by the CERGAS Research Center, in collaboration with SIF - Chair of Social Entrepreneurship, the Career Service and Campus Life. On 8 November, Professor Giorgio Fiorentini will discuss the results of the 2013 edition and students will present their developed projects to social firms and the panel of judges.

The course, which is open both to Italian and international students, will be held in English with an intensive schedule: Friday 15 November 2013 in the afternoon and all day Saturday 16 November. registration open until 31 October Counseling and Self-Empowerment is the Bocconi service that promotes psychological wellness among Bocconi students and helps improve self-awareness, valorize resources and relations and thus get the most out of their university experience and life in general. Registration is open through 31 October, for the course on Public Speaking, which will be held from 20 to 28 November. Misa a Buenos Aires was created in 1996 by Martín Palmeri, who originally and audaciously brought together the musical styles of tango and choirs, presenting a large variety of expressive and energetic melodies.
4 November at 8:30pm – Aula Maggiore The next appointment in the Language Center Film Festival is a 2012 movie written and directed by Woody Allen. The film tells four different stories that have the Italian capital as a setting and is also a return to the silver screen for Roberto Benigni and for Allen himself, after seven years of absence. The film, with a brief introduction from a language teacher, will be screened in its original language and accompanied by a synopsis card with a monolingual glossary and a language overview. Admission is free but seats are limited. 11 November at 8:30pm – Aula Maggiore For the second November screening, the Language Center Film Festival will show 007 Quantum of Solace, a 2008 film directed by Marc Forster. The 22nd chapter in the James Bond series, it is the sequel of the film Casino Royale, with Daniel Craig, who will take on the role of the British secret agent 007 for the second time. The film, with a brief introduction from a language teacher, will be screened in its original language and accompanied by a synopsis card with a monolingual glossary and a language overview. Admission is free but seats are limited.
11 November at 6:00pm – Sala Ristorante of Via Sarfatti ISU Bocconi invites you to the inauguration of the exhibit by Mauro Fornari, during which the artist will participate and which will be followed by refreshments. The exhibit will be on campus until 10 January, with free admission. Mauro Fornari’s most recent works show an explosive passion for painting: environments are refined and colors are full of memories and evocations, suggesting interior landscapes and intimate passion.
11 November at 6:00pm – Sala Bar of via Sarfatti ISU Bocconi would like to announce the inauguration of the photography exhibit by Luca Orsi, refreshments will follow. The exhibit will be on campus until 10 January, with free admission. Orsi’s objective is to go beyond stereotypes and indifference, showing an “unknown” environment, a trail of fragments of our existence that we inadvertantly leave behind us.
14 November at 9:00pm – Aula Magna Gobbi The concert has been organized ISU Bocconi in collaboration with Furcht Pianoforti. Tiffany Poon was born in Hong Kong and began studying piano at the age of five. When she was nine years old she moved to New York and attended the Juilliard School, receiving immediate recognition at international youth competitions, including first place in the World Piano Competition in Cincinnati. The musician will perform playing sonatas by Bach, Beethoven and Chopin. Admission is free but seats are limited. 15 and 16 November - Aula Magna, via Roentgen The Science for Peace conference is a moment for international debate in which the causes behind conflicts and the solutions that science offers for their prevention and resolution are analyzed. The Conference has been organized in collaboration with the Umberto Veronesi Foundation and Università Bocconi and will take place under the High Patronage of the Presidency of the Italian Republic. Participation is free but registration is required. 18 November at 8:30pm – Aula Maggiore Another part of the Film Festival will be a movie directed by Clint Eastwood in 2011. The film tells the story of J. Edgar Hoover’s career (played by Leonardo DiCaprio), who went from a simple office worker to director of the FBI, succeeding in radically changing the methods and means of investigation of the federal agency. The film, with a brief introduction from a language teacher, will be screened in its original language and accompanied by a synopsis card with a monolingual glossary and a language overview. Admission is free but seats are limited. 20 November – Atrium of Piazza Sraffa 13 (Velodromo) Università Bocconi promotes participation of its students, faculty and staff in the Milanese cultural life by stipulating agreements that allow them to go to the theater and concerts at discounted prices. Bocconi Sotto il Palco is an open day that allows you to meet with participating institutions and get information on shows, concerts and exhibits, offered at a discounted price. There are a variety of offers available, including the Franco Parenti theater, Teatro i, the laVerdi orchestra, and the Forma Photography Foundation. Bocconi Sotto il Palco is free to everyone and will be held from 12 to 5pm in the Atrium of the Velodromo.
20 and 27 November at 8:00pm – Aula Magna Gobbi After the success of musical theater performances, the team of ACTMB, Associazione Arte Cultura Teatro e Musica in Bocconi, in collaboration with BStudentsTV and the Academy of Belle Arti di Brera, presents the LiveMovie Le Kiss Noir, a full feature musical with a completely original screenplay, music and lyrics. Tickets will be available starting in the first week of November, until all seats have been sold. 26 and 27 November - aula Magna Roentgen The Forum, organized by the Barilla Center for Food and Nutrition, is the annual debate on the issues of food and nutrition around the world. On Wednesday 27 November there will be a debate open to the public about the main issues that characterized the year of 2013: the water management, the food waste and the value of food. Admission is free but registration is required.
11 December at 7:30pm – Foyer of the Aula Magna at Via Roentgen The Bocconi Alumni Association invites you to the traditional evening that brings Alumnai and students “home”. The program is simple and informal: cocktail hour, dinner, live music and group photos, a festive moment to exchange holiday greetings and celebrate the upcoming Christmas holiday. Places are limited and registration is required.
SPORTS registration now open 30 November–1 December 2013 – Passo del Tonale (BS) The skiing season for Bocconi Sport Team members is starting up: the first appointment will be on the slopes of the Passo del Tonale, a skiing area with 100km of trails, 4 sections and slopes for all levels. The weekend is open to everyone: Università Bocconi and SDA Bocconi students, graduates, Master holders, faculty members and staff. Anyone can participate, no matter what kind of previous skiing experience they have. To participate, you must be a Bocconi Sport Team member for the 2013-2014 season and pay the participation fee. Places are limited and registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
10 November 2013 – Golf Club Bergamo l’Albenza On one of the most beautiful and charming courses in Italy is the first location for the Bocconi Golf Challenge for the 2013-2014 season. All Bocconi golfers are invited to participate in order to try to become the best player of the season. Prizes for the first and second place in each category will be awarded. The other stages will be played in the spring, the first of which will be in March at the Golf Club Ambrosiano. The green fee and competition fee are free for Bocconi Sport Team members registered for the current season. To register, send an email to [email protected] indicating your full name, handicap and golf club.
Championships played by the Bocconi teams are continuing. Come support your friends and classmates who play on the men’s and women’s teams in basketball, volleyball, soccer and lacrosse!
