Three events that applied for cash contributions were not al ocated funding by the Committee. The Tastes of Two Regions was turned down due to the high number of strong applications and the Committee recommending Council’s funding be focussed on activities happening within the Shire rather than only promoting it outside the region. The two events submitted by the Stanley Old Store Café were also not recommended for funding as the Committee felt the applications did not demonstrate broader community support and benefit. In assessing the applications the Committee had access to every application form and summary documentation including estimated economic benefit of the events and estimated in kind requests (excluding officer time) from each event. The in kind requests for support with waste, traffic management and other logistics total ed nearly $25,000.
