The 30 Seconds of Action Challenge (2012)
Calling all film makers, stunt teams, martial art schools, all the aficionados
of action in between, professional or otherwise! ActionFest wants to give
you a chance to showcase your talent for choreographing kinetic and
exciting action sequence in a competition to determine which ensemble of
action-artists reign supreme.

The challenge is simple. Get a team together and write, choreograph, shoot
and produce a kick-ass action short. It can be a duel, a brawl, a battle, a
war – you just need to capture all that mayhem within thirty seconds.

Otherwise it can be about anything at all! Just be sure to focus on
creatively staging an action set-piece that entertains and thrills in 30

Upon completing your film, upload it to YouTube, and then e-mail the
video’s URL to us at [email protected] before April 6th.

Be sure to include your full contact details and the complete credits for your video(as you are not allowed to include credits within your thirty seconds), along withscanned copies of release forms for your cast, crew and music.
Following April 6th, festival organizers will review the submissions and select thefinalists, which will go on to represent the festival as Official ActionFest 2012bumpers, screening before feature presentations and at select ActionFest 2012events. The finalists will also receive two VIP badges for the festival.
The finalists will then be shown to the ActionFest 2012 Jury who will determinethe winner of the filmmaking challenge and present the filmmaker and his teamwith an award at a special screening featuring all the submissions.
Please note that ActionFest 2012 does not encourage competitors to performany dangerous stunts or feats for The Action Challenge. We are not responsiblefor any injuries or damages that may result from your participation in thiscompetition. Have fun, but make safety a priority as we would prefer you to beable attend your screening intact.
• All cast and crew must be volunteers and entrants must secure releases for talent and crew, which must be sent in with the finished submission.
The submission will not be considered until the ActionFest 2012Organizers receive the signed releases.
• “Royalty-free” music libraries may be used to score submissions, but • All entries must end with the ActionFest 2012 logo provided below. No credits apart from the ActionFest 2012 logo should appear in the video.
• All entries must be under thirty seconds.
• Submissions must be uploaded to YouTube by the end of the day on April 6th to qualify with the tags: “ActionFest” and “30 Seconds of Action 2012”.
PROJECT TERMS OF SUBMISSION: By submitting an Entry into the ActionFest2012: 30 Seconds of Action Challenge, each Entrant warrants and representsthat the Entrant owns all rights to the Entry he/she is entering in this Challenge,including, without limitation, the video or digital recording, and the performancecontained in each Entry, with the exception of any assets provided by ActionFest2012 for use by Entrants in connection with this Challenge. Each Entrant furtherwarrants and represents that the Entrant has obtained permission from eachperson who appears in the Entry to grant the rights to appear in this Challengeand will submit copies of such permissions to ActionFest 2012. By submitting anEntry, Entrant agrees to the Official Rules, and further agrees to indemnify andhold ActionFest 2012, and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, agents,co-branders or other partners, and any of their employees (collectively, the"Festival Indemnitees"), harmless from any and all claims, damages, expenses,costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) and liabilities (including settlements),brought or asserted by any third party against any of the Festival Indemniteesdue to or arising out of the Entrant's Entry materials in this Challenge, or theEntrant's conduct during and in connection with this Challenge, including but notlimited to trademark, copyright, or other intellectual property rights, right ofpublicity, right of privacy or defamation. Entrant agrees to release, indemnify andhold harmless ActionFest 2012 from any and all claims that any advertising,presentation, web content or any other material subsequently produced, presented, and/or prepared by or on behalf of ActionFest 2012 infringes on therights of Entrant's work as contained in any Entry. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY AND RELEASE: ActionFest 2012 does notencourage competitors to perform any dangerous stunts or feats for The 30Seconds of Action Challenge. We are not responsible for any injuries ordamages that may result from your participation in this competition.
